Art Basel Cities: Buenos Aires VIP Art Journey
Curated Art Travels
Art Basel Cities: Buenos Aires
Chile & James Turrell VIP Excursion
Buenos Aires, the most exciting city in Latin America known for its cultural dynamism in the arts, design, wine and gastronomy, architecture, among others, will come alive this September as it has been chosen to be the first ‘Art Basel Cities’. Art Basel Cities Week will take over the city of Buenos Aires as a living museum under the artistic vision of Cecilia Alemani (Chief Curator at Highline Art NY, previously Curator of the Italian Pavilion, La Biennale di Venezia 2017 and Frieze Projects). Entitled “Hopscotch”, the Art Basel Cities program will bring to life long forgotten locations within Buenos Aires through a series of gestures and interventions that include site-specific sculptures, live performances and experimental installations.
The enigmatic charm of Buenos Aires lies in its faded European grandeur with Latin passion. Sexy and alive, the vibrant art scene in the Argentine capital brings together galleries, museums, artists, curators, collectors, designers, architects, businesspeople and it hosts one of the biggest international art fairs for contemporary art.
Curagenda is thrilled to present our own Art Basel Cities: Buenos Aires VIP art trip and cultural excursions showing you the best of the Art Basel Cities Week, as well as introducing you to the artistic heritage, cultural histories, culinary delights, and key influencers shaping the art scene in and around Buenos Aires. During the week’s festivities, there will be plenty of opportunities to get to know other fellow travelers and VIP guests over breakfasts, lunches, dinners, tours and other social activities. Curagenda’s VIP packages also includes special benefits, such as a limited edition souvenir and amenities with local hospitality partners.

Our personalized approach combined with our selection of unique stays provides an exclusive – a more enjoyable and enriching – cultural experience.
'Hopscotch', curated by Cecilia Alemani, has been conceived as a journey through the city of Buenos Aires, occupying grand plazas and striking parks, abandoned buildings and museums of curiosities, derelict architectural structures and industrial relics that are not typically devoted to contemporary art. The selected artists were invited to create artworks in close dialogue with each of the venues, shaping a multilayered experience that connects visual arts, urban spaces and the city’s histories in unexpected ways. The participating artists comprise Eduardo Basualdo, Pia Camil, Maurizio Cattelan, Gabriel Chaile, Alex Da Corte, Santiago de Paoli, David Horvitz, Leandro Katz, Barbara Kruger, Luciana Lamothe, Ad Minoliti, Eduardo Navarro, Mika Rottenberg, Mariela Scafati, Vivian Suter and Stan VanDerBeek.
