New York Art World, The Armory Show


March 2 to 4, 2016 (3 Days)
New York Art World - The Armory Show.
In this 3-day event package you will be accompanied by a contemporary art specialist throughout the tours and activities. The package includes your pass to The Armory Show with a professional guided tour of the art fair's Contemporary Section; private tour and meet the gallerists at the legendary NY Gallery Building and galleries in Tribeca; on the final day, we visit a private collection + brunch at a Cura/genda Circle of Friends art advisor's residence. 

This art agenda is meant to offer a different dynamic to experience art and is highly designed to allow members to interact directly with dealers, critics, artists, collectors, and artworks. 

Space is very limited as we keep this group small. Please register to reserve your space ahead of time. 



2 Mar (Wed)  |  Welcome Cocktails & Warm-up
PM: Welcome cocktails and warm-up with introductions at the new work-of-art luxury residence next to the MoMA.
You will meet other members, your dedicated guide, Cura/genda Circle of Friends in a luscious setting. 

The Armory Show Vernaissage (at leisure)

3 Mar (Thu)  |  The Armory Show Day 1
AM:  Private professional guided tour of the legendary New York Gallery Building. Gallerists will be present to introduce the exhibitions and artists. A light breakfast will be served at the host gallery. 

PM: Together with the group, you will be visiting The Armory Show (Piers 92/94) - the Contemporary Section - with a specialist guided tour of the art fair.

Lunch is optional

4 Mar (Fri)  |  Brunch & Collection Visit
AM: You will visit a private collection and have an intimate discussion with the host and others in the group on collecting insights.
A light brunch will be served. 

PM: Your dedicated guide will lead an intimate tour to a selection of galleries in Tribeca who represent emerging positions in the New York contemporary art world. The gallerists will be present to introduce their program.

Tour members will be accompanied by art critic Iona Whittaker

Iona Whittaker is an art critic and editor. Originally from London, she was based in Beijing from 2009–2014. Iona is New York Editor at Randian, the only independent magazine for creative culture founded in China. Her writing, interviews and exhibition reviews appear also in Art ReviewFrieze
Flash ArtArt in America, and Surface, among others, and she has contributed catalogue essays for Pace Gallery, Lisson Gallery and the Royal Scottish Academy. “The Unfinished Collection”, an independent book commissioned by the DSL Collection, was published in November 2012.
